Katowice

Katowice is a thriving Polish city, known for its innovative and modern edge. Awash with colour and life, it has earned a reputation as a fantastic place to visit.

A UNESCO City of music, to describe this thriving city as a cultural hub is an understatement. It even has its own Culture Zone, a unique place which is home to some of the most significant landmarks including the home of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio, the Silesian Museum, and the International Congress Centre.

All that and you've also got an array of top music venues and a host of intriguing museums, while it even plays host to an international video games tournament!

As one of the greenest cities in the whole of Poland, more than 40 per cent of Katowice is covered by forests. If you're lucky enough to be visiting check out their stunning parks and greenspaces - including Silesia Park which is one of the largest urban parks in Europe, and take advantage of the brilliant bicycle-sharing system which has more than 400 bikes for use by the public. A great way to see the city's many sights.
