Preveza

Preveza

Sitting on the Amvrakikos Gulf on the west coast of Greece, Preveza is packed with sensational beaches, ancient monuments and brilliant food. I mean, what's not to like?

Many say the town has a strong Italian influence given its close proximity to the country and the lively international Yacht harbour. That - combined with the Greek island-like atmosphere - makes it a big favourite among holidaymakers.

Preveza is also a place with a fascinating history. Having been built after the ancient Nikopolis town was deserted, it has been conquered many times through the centuries. The Nicopolis (or Nikopolis) ruins, dating back to 29BC, are well worth checking out and are considered something of a hidden gem. They can be found just a few miles north of the town.
