Improving our flight information screens - the changes you'll see around the airport

Last updated Jul 05, 2024

Our flight information screens tell you where to check-in, what gate to go to, the status of your flight, and when boarding begins - and from this summer they're going to be even better than before.

A project to upgrade the screens, an invaluable resource to all arriving and departing passengers, will deliver an improved experience across the entire terminal.

Two large screens before and after World Duty Free are among those to have been introduced while a fresh look and feel has been applied to all displays, ensuring consistency in all parts of the airport.

The new system also allows the development of exciting features such as language translations for certain flights and destination weather to name a few.

The investment comes as part of the airport's operating replacement project and is one of a number of improvements being delivered for passengers during summer 2024.

Stephanie Battye, IT Service Delivery Manager, at Edinburgh Airport said:

"This is a brilliant change for passengers, it gives them consistency throughout the terminal.

"We've replaced all the screens in the terminal, so what we've done is improve it not only from a look and feel perspective, but we've also replaced our hardware and made it consistent throughout.

"This opens up a world of opportunity to us. It is a brand new platform with the potential to introduce key functionality if and when we choose to do so."

Throughout the busy summer months we're going to be sharing some of the big improvements you'll see when next travelling through the airport.

A host of projects are currently being worked on with the aim of raising standards for all passengers throughout the terminal - whether you're departing or arriving - and we're looking forward to telling you all about them.

What you say matters to us and that's why these improvements have been informed by feedback from passengers and our own teams across the airport.

Improvements include:

✅ New food and beverage outlets.

✅ More water fountains in the departure lounge.

✅ More electric vehicles operating on our airfield.

✅ More space in the check-in hall.
