Zurich

Zurich

A city which breathes elegance and history. The medieval streetscapes skirt the cool blues of the Limmat River, which meanders seamlessly into the beautiful Lake Zurich.

These days this place is more than a banking hub. A city break will undoubtedly lead to good times thanks to the trendy bars and lively nightlife, the outstanding cuisine (yes, that includes the chocolate), and the many art galleries and museums. Among the array of highlights is the Fraumunster, a stunning church founded in 853 and famed for its stained glass windows, which sits at the heart of the Old Town.

And if you're lucky enough to be in these parts you'll want to hop aboard a cogwheel train and ride to the top of the Jungfraujoch - Europe's highest railway station at an elevation of 11,333 feet. A truly unique experience.

All that and we've not even touched upon the easy access to the magnificent Swiss Alps, or the Zurich Summer Festivals which take place in the city's great outdoors. There are no shortage of reasons you should be looking at this gem for your next city break.
